White clouds are very apt in living in most conditions including ponds. Care does need to be taken as not to introduce them into our Australian waterways.

Scientific Name

    Origin:
  • Found in Southern China, particularly around Whitecloud Mountain.

  • Maximum Size and Longevity
  • White clouds will grow to 4cm and live to be 5 to 7 years old if kept correctly in the right conditions.

  • Water Quality

    White clouds tolerate a wide range of water conditions.

  • Temperature: 18°C - 26°C, but can survive down to temperatures of 5C.
  • pH: 6.0—8.0
  • General Hardness: 50—200 ppm.

  • Feeding
  • White clouds are omnivorous and have few demands for special foods when it comes to feeding.
  • A simple flake food will be fine.
  • On occasions feeding them with frozen foods such as Brine Shrimp or Bloodworm will be beneficial.

  • Compatibility

    White clouds are a peaceful fish that can co-exist with most other varieties of community fish.

    Avoid keeping them with large predatory fish that can consume them and keep them in a school of 6 or more.
