Description:

Origin:

Dwarf sized rainbowfish endemic to the Atherton Tablelands or North Queensland.

During the breeding season the colours intensify becoming bright golden-yellow with narrow red stripes and reddish soft dorsal, anal and caudal fins which may have black margins in breeding males. 
Females are silvery-brown with paler orange-brown stripes along the body.

  • Grows to: 6cm
  • Temperature: 22-26°C
  • pH: 6.5-7.5
  • Temperament: Peaceful
  • General Hardness : Soft to Moderate (50-200ppm)


Compatibility:

  • Suited to community aquariums with Live Bearers, Gouramis, Danios, Rasboras and Catfish.


Feeding:

  • Omnivores - Tropical pellets/flakes and Live Foods
